Job Summary: IPG is seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager.The Sr. Technical Program Manager is responsible for leading enterprise‑level technical programs and portfolio execution efforts that span business, product, technology, data, analytics, operations, finance, legal/compliance, and external partners. Serves as a senior execution partner to Portfolio Execution leadership by translating strategy into sequenced delivery plans, driving cross‑functional alignment, managing intake, prioritization, governance, and escalation, surfacing risks and tradeoffs, and ensuring complex initiatives move from concept through measurable business outcomes.

Job Location: Remote – USA; Strong preference for candidates who are able to work Hybrid in Chicago, IL or New York, NY.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Establish and manage integrated program plans, roadmaps, dependency maps, milestone plans, RAID logs, and governance routines for complex business and technology initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted execution partner to Portfolio Execution leadership, helping convert executive priorities into actionable workstreams, decision points, deliverables, and operating cadence.
  • Lead intake, prioritization, sequencing, and readiness assessment for initiatives across product, technology, data/analytics, operations, commercial, and partner teams.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams, including product, engineering, QA, data/analytics, finance, legal, compliance, customer service/sales, marketing, vendors, and external partners.
  • Translate business objectives and technical requirements into clear scope, deliverables, business requirements/user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans.
  • Identify and manage cross-program dependencies, tradeoffs, risks, blockers, resource constraints, and escalation paths; recommend options and decisions to leadership.
  • Prepare executive‑ready status reporting, decision memos, portfolio views, dashboards, and governance materials that clearly communicate progress, risks, benefits, and required decisions.
  • Drive delivery operating rhythm through steering committees, working sessions, standups, planning/PI ceremonies, readiness reviews, UAT/QAT coordination, retrospectives, and post‑launch follow‑up.
  • Partner with technical, product, and business leads to ensure solution design, change management, security, privacy, quality, compliance, release readiness, and adoption needs are addressed before delivery.
  • Facilitate alignment across senior leaders and teams where ownership, decision rights, requirements, or prioritization are unclear.
  • Continuously improve portfolio execution practices, including intake workflows, prioritization frameworks, RACI/ownership models, status transparency, capacity planning, lessons learned, and governance standards.
  • Operate with minimal supervision and sound judgment in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments, with the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 7+ years of experience leading complex technical programs, portfolio execution, product delivery, enterprise transformation, or cross‑functional business/technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at both executive and working‑team levels, translating strategy into concrete delivery plans, decision frameworks, and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong command of program/portfolio governance, risk management, dependency management, prioritization, resource/capacity planning, change management, and executive communications.
  • Experience partnering with product, technology, data/analytics, QA, operations, finance, legal/compliance, marketing, vendors, and external partners.
  • Ability to manage sensitive stakeholder dynamics, clarify operating models, and build trust across teams with competing priorities.
  • Experience with Agile, hybrid, and waterfall delivery models; working knowledge of PI planning, sprint ceremonies, UAT/QAT, release readiness, and benefits realization.
  • Proficiency with portfolio/project management and collaboration tools such as ADO (Azure DevOps), Jira, Monday.com, Smartsheet, Confluence, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, or similar.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical orientation, and ability to frame qualitative and quantitative tradeoffs for senior leadership.
  • Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline, with wide latitude for independent judgment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree PMP, PgMP, ACP/Agile, SAFe, or similar certification preferred.
