Job Summary:
TekSynap is a fast-growing high-tech company that understands the pace of technology and the need for a comprehensive information management environment. They are seeking a Senior Storage Administrator to manage, maintain, and support enterprise storage systems, ensuring security and high availability while collaborating with various teams to optimize infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support enterprise storage systems and associated server environments.
• Collaborate with OS and Storage teams to support ALTESS infrastructure and its customers.
• Implement new hardware and software solutions, contributing to the development of local operating procedures and policies.
• Monitor system operations and generate utilization reports to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Recommend, demonstrate, and implement new technologies to optimize and expand existing infrastructure.
• Ensure the security, stability, and high availability of enterprise data storage systems.
• Maintain storage and network policies and standards aligned with organizational requirements.
• Refresh data environments as requested by application development teams.
• Develop, document, and follow Standard Operating Procedures for system operations, disaster recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Administer storage solutions across MS-Windows, Solaris, and RHEL/OEL Linux environments.
• Manage storage networks and environments integrated with VMware 7.x or higher.
• Configure and support network communication and backup software across multiple platforms.
• Write and maintain scripts using PowerShell and Bash; perform advanced command-line operations.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Three (3) years of experience in enterprise data storage system design, installation, configuration, security, and maintenance.
• Three (3) years maintaining enterprise storage/network policies and standards.
• Three (3) years of experience performing data environment refreshes at developer request.
• Three (3) working with MS-Windows, Solaris, and RHEL/OEL Linux.
• Three or more years' experience creating, maintaining, following Standard Operating Procedures for repeatable processes, disaster recovery, and common problem resolution.
• Three (3) years administering storage networks and managing VMware 7.x or later.
• Three (3) years of experience with IP-based network communication.
• Installation and configuration experience of backup SW with Windows Server 2019, Solaris 11, RedHat Enterprise Linux 7 and higher.
• Three (3) years supporting cybersecurity practices such as STIGs, SRGs, RMF, SCA-V, and CORA.
• Experience scripting in PowerShell and Bash; strong command-line interface (CLI) skills.
• Strong CLI skills.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• CompTIA Security+.
• Computing Environment (CE) Certification (can be waived for 30 days after project join date.)
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
• Server+.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
• Secret – IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive Clearance or Tier 3 (T3) investigation.
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
