Job Summary:

The Enterprise Risk Manager is responsible for components of the governance and oversight of the bank’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework including its Emerging Risk program, Key Risk Indicator/Key Performance Indicator program, Enterprise Issue Management program, and Model Risk Management program. This position oversees the primary administrator of the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) solution. This position promotes risk culture by supporting Enterprise Risk training and providing expertise, support, and effective challenge on risk-related matters to accurately identify existing and emerging risks and document enhanced controls related to those risks.

Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct oversight and guidance to the Enterprise Risk System Administrator promoting their growth and development
  • Leads the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous enhancement to the Emerging Risk program and Key Risk Indicator/ Key Performance Indicator program, commensurate with the Bank’s size, complexity, and risk profile, and supports the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Appetite Framework. The responsibilities are performed by:
    • Ensuring alignment of risk management practices with the bank and business lines’ strategic objectives and internal and external risk factors
    • Exercising independent second-line oversight and effective challenge over first-line risk measurements
    • Monitoring for timely and effective risk remediation
  • Oversees Enterprise Issue Management governance and reporting including monitoring remediation activities, identifying trends, and escalating overdue and high-risk issues
  • Oversees the Model Risk Management governance, ongoing monitoring, and third-party validation activities
  • Performs data analysis of GRC data to identify trends and concentrations. Produces and oversees the productions of meaningful enterprise risk management reports, escalating risk appetite breaches, emerging risks and initiatives, and top risks to senior management, committees, and the Board.
  • Leads and maintains the Enterprise Risk Management risk assessment
  • Supports Enterprise Risk training initiatives across the organization
  • Serves on Bank committees that materially impact enterprise risk
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for audits and exams
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • Four-year college degree in a related field preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least eight years of experience or training in risk, audit or finance is required
  • Risk Management related certification preferred (i.e., CERP)
  • Management/Supervisory experience preferred

Hiring Salary Range

The hiring range below reflects targeted base salary. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s prior related experience & education and will be finalized at the time of offer. In addition to base salary, most positions are also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program. Select positions may also be eligible to earn incentives and/or commissions. Hiring Base Salary Range: $102,500 - $121,500 plus annual bonus.
