About Precis:

Position Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of projects from inception through completion. This role oversees all project elements, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, and client expectations. The Project Manager works closely with technical teams, account managers, and the accounting group to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, accurately, and profitably.

Project managers at Precis serve as the primary conduit between clients and our multidisciplinary engineering teams. In addition to technical and managerial leadership, this role plays a key part in developing and maintaining long-term client relationships while promoting the Precis brand in the marketplace.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership + Execution

  • Plan, manage, and coordinate multi-discipline engineering teams on small to large projects within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and higher education markets.
  • Identify project phases, tasks, and deliverables.
  • Define scope, schedule, and resource needs.
  • Lead project planning efforts and assign resources appropriately to meet project objectives.
  • Maintain project schedules by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and proactively resolving issues.
  • Control project costs and performance using key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing project data; recommend corrective actions as needed.

Client Management + Business Development

  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned projects and represent Precis at client meetings.
  • Develop new client relationships while maintaining and expanding scope with existing clients.
  • Present technical concepts, project updates, and recommendations clearly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with account managers to support client strategies and long-term partnerships.

Technical + Quality Oversight

  • Determine project and customer requirements; develop performance standards and technical approaches.
  • Prepare and review basis of design documents, systems guidelines, and conceptual designs.
  • Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform quality reviews and assume accountability for quality across all assigned projects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, industry standards, and internal procedures, including GMP requirements.

Financial + Administrative Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates and support financial forecasting for assigned projects.
  • Lead proposal development and prepare responses to RFPs.
  • Monitor project billing and ensure accurate invoicing; address complex or elevated billing issues when necessary.
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with internal teams, clients, and external partners to ensure project success.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in engineering or related field.
