Job description

SkyWater Technology is hiring an experienced semiconductor Process Sustaining Senior Engineer in the area of Chemical Mechanical Polish (CMP) at its Austin, TX location.  The process engineer will be responsible for maintaining the existing process ensuring production metrics are met and also drive process improvements.  Areas of improvement may include establishing new process settings, qualifying new polishing slurries and consumables, or qualifying new equipment.  Along with applicable technical knowledge, candidates will need to possess strong troubleshooting skills along with ability to conduct statistical analysis on data.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a CMP process (STI, W, Oxide, or Cu)
  • Maintain and improve process control using Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Process Control (APC), and Fault Detection Control (FDC)
  • Investigate and resolve process, defect, and yield issues, including qualifying process improvements which will require the use of Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Work with the equipment and industrial engineers to improve tool availability, throughput, and utilization
  • Develop and execute plans to drive down overall costs while ensuring high quality
  • Work on cross functional teams to address integrated technology and yield issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline
  • 2-3 years of semiconductor manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience with chemical mechanical polish at a semiconductor company preferred
  • The ability to handle challenging work with time constraints
  • Good data analysis skills and the ability to use tools such as JMP and SQL
  • Shift: Position is on-site, M-F from 7:30am-4:30pm
