Position Summary
Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join our team in the semiconductor industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving our wafer fabrication processes, identifying complex problems, and implementing solutions to drive yield enhancement.
Role and Responsibilities
Here's what you'll be responsible for:
  • Monitor and respond to in-line issues in the wafer fabrication etch process, ensuring timely disposition of wafers.
  • Qualify wafer fabrication etch processes on advanced tools.
  • Coordinate process qualifications and equipment downtime with manufacturing and equipment teams.
  • Analyze data using software tools to identify trends and inform processing decisions.
  • Adjust process parameters as needed and monitor equipment performance after maintenance.
  • Executes change point management on Etch processes / equipment
  • Continuously update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Skills and Qualifications
Here's what you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering field.
  • 1+ year of experience in a related field.
  • Experience with 300mm Dry Etch processes.
  • Familiarity with equipment platforms such as Lam, AMAT, TEL, Mattson, Hitachi, and/or PSK.
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods and their implementation.
  • Familiarity with Advanced Process Control (APC) techniques and its usage
  • Knowledge of basic chemistry, scientific methods, and experimental design principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with the team and other departments
  • Basic understanding of wafer fabrication processes.
  • Familiarity with advanced statistical methods
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and technical documents.

The current base salary range for this role is between $70,480 - $179,090. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
Night Shifts Include:
B Shift - Sunday through Tuesday (6:45pm - 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays
D Shift - Wednesday through Friday (6:45pm - 7:15pm) with alternating Saturdays

At Samsung SAS, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package. The base compensation for this role will depend on education, experience, skills, and location.
