Senior Mortgage Loan Processor

Consumers Bank is pleased to announce we are seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Processor to join our expanding mortgage group. This position is a key role in our mortgage department as a processor for our secondary market and portfolio loan purchasers. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage and process residential mortgage loan files from application through final underwriting approval, ensuring timely progression and adherence to established service standards.
  • Collect, review, and validate borrower information and supporting documentation, including income, assets, employment, credit, and collateral documentation, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and program eligibility.
  • Order and analyze third-party documentation such as appraisals, title reports, verifications, tax returns, and credit reports, identifying and resolving issues that may impact loan approval.
  • Evaluate loan files for compliance with investor, agency, company, federal, and state requirements, proactively identifying and addressing qualifying, documentation, and regulatory concerns before submission to underwriting.
  • Monitor loan pipelines, coordinate with borrowers, loan officers, real estate agents, and other stakeholders, and provide ongoing status updates to ensure an efficient and positive customer experience.
  • Review and satisfy underwriting conditions, verify accuracy of loan data within the loan origination system, and conduct final file reviews to ensure complete, compliant, and underwriter-approved loan files are delivered for closing.
  • Stay current on mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices while serving as a resource and mentor to less experienced processors and support staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5 plus years of experience in mortgage loan processing (FHA, VA, conventional loans, etc.) or equivalent experience
  • Ability to build strong relationships with loan officers, production, underwriting, closing and other internal and external partners.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment; strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Copilot, and Excel
  • Able to exercise appropriate judgment and seek/involve management when necessary
  • Possess well developed analytical, mathematical skills
  • Ability to accept management instruction and execute tasks while under pressure
  • Strong customer service orientation
