SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER
Department: INTERIORS

Description
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Interior Designer to work full-time in our Raleigh, NC office with a focus on our Mission Critical and Science & Tech Teams. The Senior Interior Designer will develop space plans and develop concepts through construction within our interior architecture focus, finish selection, millwork, consultant coordination, production, and development of commercial design projects from concept through construction.
This position requires an understanding of current trends and a high level of experience using Revit, InDesign, & Escape software. In addition, this position requires the ability to communicate effectively with the design team and adapt to changes and elect most effective methods of accomplishing tasks. This is a unique opportunity for someone with have a great reputation in the design community at large to be a rising leader within our Interiors practice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads the ideation, conceptual, and schematic design development of various projects to support client goals, budgets and timelines.
  • Leads interior design efforts and project teams including design direction and client engagement.
  • Oversees and participates in the design, production, and construction documentation phases of various commercial projects throughout the lifecycle of a project using Revit software.
  • Leads designers on team in selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting
  • Develop complex space plans
  • Expertise in interior details for high brand design projects
  • Manages Bid process for furniture and finish cost estimates.
  • Assists with construction administration, RFIs, project submittals, and project site visits.
  • Meets project schedules and maintains positive relationships with clients and the Ci Design project teams
  • Ability to travel occasionally to support project tasks.
  • Accountable for effective coordination with clients, partners, and consultants throughout the entire project.
  • Versatile, self-motivated, and articulate.
  • Aware and supportive of the work of other designers and junior designers
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Desire for continued professional growth, NCIDQ Certified or on track with certification.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
  • Bachelor's degree in interior design/interior architecture from a CIDA accredited College or University.
  • Preferred minimum 6-8+ years related experience with design within various place types.
  • Field observations and measurements
  • Experience with BIM, Revit, InDesign, and 2D/3D production software, Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Furniture and interior product specifications, Furniture bid packages
  • Strong knowledge of commercial FF&E products, design, and specifications.
  • Expertise with building systems, codes and ADA requirements
  • Sketching and space planning skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
