About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn't a buzzword - it's a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

The Experience

The Data Modeler role is part of Salesforce's Tech and Product (T&P) Data Modeling Team - a passionate, world-class group of data model designers who shape the data model across every Salesforce product, from horizontal applications like Sales and Service to the full range of industry-specific clouds, and including our Data 360 platform. It's a broader range of subject matter than most data modelers encounter in an entire career.

We are looking for a Senior Data Modeler to serve as a trusted design authority - partnering daily with product managers, UX designers, architects, and software engineers (who develop the data models) - to ensure every product Salesforce ships is backed by a well-architected, thoughtful data model. With Agentforce and AI woven into how we work, you will use AI tools every day to accelerate design and data model content creation - and help us continuously improve those AI capabilities. Our US team collaborates closely with colleagues in India, which requires availability for some morning and evening overlap hours.

What You'll Actually Be Doing
  • Participate in collaborative data model design sessions with product managers, UX designers, architects, and engineers - sketching logical entity-relationship models, mapping them into the existing Salesforce data models, surfacing design risks, and driving designs to approval as peer advisors on each team. You are coaching and mentoring these partners throughout every one of these interactions.

  • Own data model design quality across your assigned Salesforce Clouds and represent those designs to both internal and external stakeholders, making and defending the design decisions that best balance stability, architecture, user experience, performance, speed to market, software cost of ownership, and more.

  • Leverage AI tools daily to accelerate data model discovery, design, validation, and documentation. Actively contribute to improving Salesforce's AI data modeling capabilities to raise the bar for the whole team and the teams we partner with.

  • Lead and contribute to data model documentation and collateral, including entity-relationship diagrams and reference models, to enhance understanding and adoption of the Salesforce data model across the Salesforce ecosystem.

You're Our People If
  • You have 8+ years of experience in relational (OLTP) data model design - with deep understanding of relational database principles and a track record of leading design conversations and driving designs to approval across both relational and analytical systems, spanning multiple industries.

  • You communicate technical and functional concepts clearly to diverse audiences - engineers, architects, product managers, and business stakeholders - and you are equally comfortable in a whiteboard session and a leadership review.

  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment with short release cycles, can manage multiple products concurrently with minimal specifications, and know how to build consensus across teams with competing priorities.

  • You are genuinely enthusiastic about using AI tools to do your job better and are motivated to help build AI-assisted data modeling into the fabric of how a world-class team operates.

  • A related technical degree required.

Even Better If
  • You have experience across a broad range of business domains (sales, service, field service, marketing, commerce) and industries (financial services, health, manufacturing, communications, retail, public sector, and others).

  • You have knowledge of Salesforce platform features and capabilities - including both the core CRM platform and Data 360 - or of modern data stack technologies such as columnar, graph, vector, streaming databases, Apache Iceberg, Snowflake, or similar.

  • You have a good understanding of enterprise architecture principles and experience serving as a trusted design advisor to product and engineering teams.

  • You have strong, hands-on knowledge of SQL (or Salesforce SOQL) including relational database performance tuning, and working knowledge of how physical database design decisions affect query performance.

Unleash Your Potential

When you join Salesforce, you'll be limitless in all areas of your life. Our benefits and resources support you to find balance andbe your best, and our AI agents accelerate your impact so you cando your best. Together, we'll bring the power of Agentforce to organizations of all sizes and deliver amazing experiences that customers love. Apply today to not only shape the future - but to redefine what's possible - for yourself, for AI, and the world.
