Overview

A growing financial services organization is seeking a Data Architect to play a key role in shaping its next-generation data environment. This individual will help design and evolve a modern data ecosystem that supports analytics, reporting, and critical business operations.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong architectural thinking with hands-on data modeling expertise, and who enjoys working closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders.


What You’ll Be DoingDesigning Enterprise Data Architecture
  • Define and evolve the organization’s data architecture framework
  • Establish standards, best practices, and guiding principles for data design
  • Align data architecture with broader business and technology initiatives

Hands-On Data Modeling (Core Focus)
  • Create and maintain:
    • Conceptual data models
    • Logical data models
    • Physical data models
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, well-structured data designs
  • Develop reusable models that support both operational and analytical use cases
  • Ensure consistency across data domains and systems

Master Data Strategy & Design
  • Contribute to the design of enterprise master data structures
  • Define how key business entities (such as customers, accounts, or products) are managed and standardized
  • Support the creation of rules for matching, merging, and maintaining high-quality master data

Data Quality & Governance Support
  • Help establish consistent approaches to data quality and integrity
  • Collaborate with internal teams responsible for governance, metadata, and data stewardship
  • Support efforts related to data lineage, cataloging, and standardization

Modern Data Platform Design
  • Contribute to the architecture of scalable data platforms, including:
    • Data warehouses
    • Data lakes or lakehouse environments
  • Assist in defining patterns for:
    • Data ingestion
    • Transformation
    • Storage and consumption
  • Ensure solutions are designed for performance, scalability, and maintainability

Integration & Data Flow Design
  • Define approaches for moving and integrating data across systems
  • Support design of ETL/ELT pipelines and data exchange patterns
  • Participate in reviewing and guiding technical solutions for alignment with standards

Collaboration & Business Engagement
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions
  • Work closely with data engineering, analytics, and governance teams
  • Act as a bridge between business concepts and technical implementation

What We’re Looking ForRequired Experience
  • Approximately 6–12 years of experience working across data architecture, data modeling, or closely related disciplines
  • Strong hands-on experience creating data models across multiple abstraction levels
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
  • Experience designing or contributing to enterprise-scale data solutions
  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality concepts
  • Experience working in cloud or hybrid data environments

Preferred Experience
  • Experience working within financial services or related domains
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and cloud-based architectures
  • Exposure to:
    • Data warehousing and lakehouse concepts
    • Dimensional modeling or similar techniques
    • Master data management concepts

Work Environment
  • Remote during the initial contract period
  • Hybrid schedule anticipated upon permanent transition (combination of remote and onsite collaboration)
  • Multiple geographic locations supported
