What does a Sr Collections Manager do?

A Sr Collections Manager oversees the collections department within an organization, ensuring that outstanding debts are recovered efficiently and in compliance with company policies and regulations. They manage a team of collectors, develop strategies to improve collection rates, and analyze data to optimize processes. Additionally, they may handle escalated accounts, negotiate payment plans, and collaborate with other departments to minimize financial risk. Their role is crucial in maintaining the company's cash flow and reducing bad debt expenses.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Sr Collections Manager?

To excel as a Sr Collections Manager, you need expertise in accounts receivable management, debt collection strategies, and a solid understanding of financial regulations, often supported by a degree in finance or business.
