Position Snapshot

As a Billing Team Lead, you will support the Billing team in their daily tasks and projects, with a focus on resolving escalated billing issues. You will conduct quality assurance (QA) reviews to ensure billing accuracy and oversee the billing process for top accounts, ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is committed to the team's success. They are adaptable, open to change, and eager to take on new challenges. This position reports to the Billing Manager.

Core Responsibilities
  • Support the Billing team through providing training, guidance, and mentorship
  • Conduct QA reviews to ensure billing accuracy and compliance with third-party payer requirements
  • Manage billing for top accounts, ensuring timely and accurate claim submissions
  • Oversee day-to-day billing operations, ensuring team members complete tasks efficiently
  • Assist with billing discrepancies, claim denials, and corrections to maintain high clean-claims rates
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and suggest workflow improvements
  • Coordinate with internal teams to standardize billing practices and resolve issues
  • Escalate complex billing issues to the Billing Manager when needed
  • Support billing audits and internal quality control measuresOther duties as assigned
Experience and Skills
  • Minimum 1 year of experience leading a team, mentoring staff, or taking initiative in a senior billing role
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with medical billing, claim submission, and working with third-party payers
  • Ability to analyze billing data, identify trends, and implement process improvements
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or other related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience
