Job description

Position Summary

The Accounting & Billing Manager has primary responsibility for the day-to-day accounting and billing functions of the firm. Professionalism and confidentiality are essential in this role.


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience in Billing and Accounting role, preferably law firm environment.
  • Strong Excel Experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to problem solve and work independently.
  • Contribute to success in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:


Accounting

  • Oversee daily AR/AP process, including review of incoming invoices and reimbursements requests.
  • Manage and record daily cash and wire receipts/deposits.
  • Oversee end of month client and timekeeper reporting.
  • Coordinate LMS data analysis of firm operations.
  • Identify LMS capabilities that can assist in evaluation of firm profit and operations.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining Master Financial Spreadsheet.
  • Assist with budget preparation and reconciliation.
  • Monitor aged Accounts Receivables.
  • Prepare financial reporting on project basis.
  • Coordinate fulfillment of CNS requests from firm lawyers.
  • Act as back-up of AP and weekly reimbursement check runs.


Billing

  • Monitor monthly billing cycle.
  • Manage appeals, write-off, and accruals.
  • Attain comprehensive understanding of all client billing guidelines.
  • Assist with budget, diversity, and accounting inquiries from attorneys.
  • Assist with client A/R efforts.
