Senior Java Developer remote

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java and Spring Boot applications, including batch processes and RESTful APIs
  • Participate in the modernization of legacy systems, including migrating Java/Solaris workloads to AWS Batch
  • Focus on standalone Java process with EJB components, followed by Spring API development
  • Collaborate with the data team to build and enhance data-driven solutions; write efficient SQL queries and interact with data warehouses (Oracle, Redshift, Postgres, etc.)
  • Contribute to the development and deployment of microservices in a cloud-first environment (AWS)
  • Leverage AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, and Aurora as part of backend development workflows
  • Support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket
  • Work within a cross-functional team following DevOps principles to ensure secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions
  • Operate effectively in Linux/Unix environments, as well as Windows when needed

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 4+ years of professional experience as a Java developer, including experience with Java 8.1 and Java 21
