Technology Partners is currently seeking a talented SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ) Upgrade Consultant.

What You Will Be Doing

You will serve as a key member of the upgrade team, responsible for planning, executing, and validating the migration of the SAP BusinessObjects platform from version 4.3 to 2025. You will assess the current environment, develop a comprehensive upgrade strategy, coordinate installation and configuration activities, and ensure all content, reports, universes, and Data Services jobs are properly migrated and validated. During the project, you will collaborate with infrastructure, database, SAP Basis, and security teams to deliver a smooth transition with minimal disruption. This is a 6 to 9-month contract position focused on delivering a robust upgrade and providing detailed documentation and knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and document the current SAP BusinessObjects environment, including reports, universes, security, and Data Services.
  • Develop and execute a detailed upgrade plan, including risk mitigation and rollback strategies.
  • Perform installation, configuration, and migration of SAP BusinessObjects BI 2025 on Windows Server 2025 VMs.
  • Upgrade and validate all content, including Web Intelligence reports, Crystal Reports, universes, and scheduled jobs.
  • Configure and optimize environment components like CMS, FRS, Web Intelligence, and Data Services repositories.
  • Collaborate with database administrators to prepare SQL Server 2022 or equivalent databases for the upgrade.
  • Validate security, authentication, and single sign-on (SSO) integrations, including Active Directory, LDAP, SAML, and Kerberos.
  • Conduct testing at multiple levelsโ€”functional, regression, performance, and user acceptanceโ€”and address any defects.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation covering upgrade architecture, procedures, and knowledge transfer.
  • Support and execute the production cutover, monitor system health post-implementation, and resolve issues as they arise.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of SAP BusinessObjects administration and platform upgrade experience.
  • Proven experience upgrading SAP BI environments from SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x to SAP BusinessObjects BI 2025.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP Data Services administration, including repositories, jobs, and workflows.
  • Handsโ€‘on experience with CMS, FRS, Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, and IDT universe design.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server, SQL Server, Oracle, or SAP HANA database environments.
  • Experience configuring SAP BusinessObjects components such as the Central Management Console (CMC) and Promotion Management.
  • Knowledge of Apache Tomcat, Java 17, SSL configuration, LDAP, SAML, and Kerberos authentication.
  • Ability to develop detailed test plans and execute validation activities.
  • Educational background with a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • SAP Certified Technology Associate or SAP Data Services certification.
  • Experience with SAP BusinessObjects Cloud (Analytics Cloud) integration.
  • Prior participation in largeโ€‘scale enterprise BI environment migrations with 1,000+ users.
  • Familiarity with VMware server sizing and performance tuning.
Pay
