Job description

Essential Functions:
•    Translate business needs into technical designs for BI solutions. 
•    Apply rapid prototyping and iterative development methodologies as appropriate to ensure solution keeps pace with business needs. 
•    Design and implement new features and enhancements to the existing ETL routines responsible for loading data from the sources systems into the Data Warehouse. 
•    Develop and manage BI job scheduling and monitoring.  
•    Perform performance tuning on the ETL. 
•    Participate in near and long-term capacity planning for BI.  
•    Develop Models, Scorecards, and Dashboards with drill-down and drill-through capabilities. 
•    Research and resolve data integrity and performance needs. 
•    Strong communications skills both oral and written. 
•    Work with other IT delivery teams such as business analyst, security analyst and infrastructure to meet project goals. 


WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Experience: 
•    Minimum 3-4 years of experience in relational Data Modeling. 
•    Minimum 3-4 years of experience with the Microsoft SQL Server BI Stack (SQL Server, RDMS, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI Desktop, Power BI Pro, Power BI Report Server).
•    Minimum 3-4 years of experience writing Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) in Power BI & Analysis Services.
•    Experience with flat files and other databases (Fixed Width, CSV, SQL Server & DB2 preferred).
•    Demonstrated ability to deliver high impact business intelligence solutions in complex environments. 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•    Hands on implementation experience in data profiling, designing, implementing and performance tuning ETL processes using SSIS from multiple data sources and 200+ million record source data tables. 
•    Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft SQL Server BI Stack (SQL Server, RDMS, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI Desktop, Power BI Pro, Power BI Report Server). 
•    Experience writing Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) in Power BI & Analysis Services.
•    Knowledge of BI security best practices. 
•    Experience creating documentation, and diagrams that communicate the overall architecture of the solution to business, technical audiences, and support teams.  
•    Excellent knowledge of prototyping & proof of concept mechanisms.
•    Experience with BI Architecture data modeling in SQL Server. 
•    Experience with integrating BI with JD Edwards, and advanced SQL Server database tuning and performance monitoring is a plus.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Analytics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics or related subject preferred.
•    Specific work experience considered.
