Job Description

The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Utilities distribution operations and Power Systems. This role will focus on the design and implementation of Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), including Network Management Systems (NMS) and Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS). As a Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in the productized delivery of our Enterprise solutions, ensuring client-specific designs, seamless integrations, and tailored reports. Your combined expertise in Software and Electrical systems will empower us to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions to our clients with a streamlined approach and maximum efficiency. The ideal candidate will be leading configuration and deployment of the ADMS solution.This includes the core application, along with any adapters/interfaces required by the customers.

Responsibilities

Assist customers in resolving business needs and, where appropriate, promote products and services.

Work with the project manager to develop a budget for the external design effort.

High-level estimation of effort for design, development, and testing of design solutions (ball-parking).

As a thought leader and trusted advisor, effectively influences difficult decisions at the leadership-level of customer organizations.

Detailed estimation of effort for development and testing of design solutions.

Analysis of business requirements.

Understands and documents business processes.

Records and publishes detailed minutes of discovery sessions.

Translate Customer requirements into technical solutions.

Provide product training to the Customers and act as an SME for our offered solutions.

Develops and recommends solutions and strategies, based on the analysis of customer business goals, objectives, needs, and existing systems infrastructure.

Configuration and testing of the client-specific software systems.

System Integration and performance/scalability testing.

Work leadership in resolving problems and work assignments.

Ability to make delivery of agreed solutions within budgeted hours.

Identifies changes in scope expansion and handles customer expectations of scope.

Lead the external design and provide support throughout the development and system test phases.

Perform system test planning and execution as required on a project, Solving, and bug fixing.

Provide onsite assistance during application rollout during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), System Acceptance Testing (SAT), and Go-Live.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience relevant to this position (consulting experience preferred)
  • 5+ years of OMS and DMS Software configuration and maintenance experience
  • 2+ years of radial and meshed Distribution Networks and engineering data models experience
  • Electrical Engineering background with experience in Power Systems preferred
  • Experience with Electric Utilities Distribution Operations preferred
  • Familiarity with programming languages like C, C++, Java, and Python
  • Working knowledge of linux/Unix, XML, SQL
  • Working knowledge of VSCode, Weblogic Administration, GIS Data modeling and SCADA
  • Experience with communication protocols like ICCP, DNP3, and other integrations is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Electrical Engineering
  • Master’s with Power Systems Specialization is preferred.

The suitable candidate should have strong influencing and negotiation skills and should be able to travel to the customer sites as needed.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $97,500 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
