Programmer Analyst 3 โ€“ Oracle PL/SQL/Apex (Part-Time, Hybrid Atlanta)

Job Overview

Seeking an experiencedย Oracle PL/SQL/Apex Developerย to support and modernize the Syndromic Surveillance (SS) module within the Georgia State Electronic Notifiable Disease Surveillance System (SendSS). The developer will collaborate closely with the legacy system owner, assume module ownership, support user needs, and lead redesign and redevelopment initiatives within the Oracle Apex framework.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot computers, servers, peripherals, and applications within the SendSS system

  • Redesign and implement the SS module from PL/SQL to Oracle Apex

  • Collaborate with legacy developers to fully understand module mechanics and ensure smooth knowledge transfer

  • Provide ongoing support to staff and ensure stability through system modernization

  • Follow consistent procedures and standards for system maintenance

  • Own assigned tasks and operate independently with good judgment


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, MIS, engineering, business administration, or a related field

  • Minimum 5 yearsโ€™ experience in Oracle PL/SQL programming

  • 5 yearsโ€™ experience developing web application front-ends with HTML, JavaScript, and JavaScript frameworks

  • 5 yearsโ€™ experience in full project lifecycle implementation of web-based systems

  • 5 yearsโ€™ experience with Oracle RDBMS

  • System experience in application development (3 years)

  • Strong troubleshooting abilities, self-motivation, and ability to work with minimal supervision
