Job description

Position Overview :

  • Client is in need of a Sr. Oracle PL/SQL Developer with strong Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience for a hybrid-onsite contract with our client in Green Bay, WI.
  • The contract will start at 12 months with possible extension to 18 months.
  • Ideal candidate would be local to Wisconsin and able to go into the Green Bay office 3 days/week.
  • This position is critical to supporting and enhancing our client’s existing commercial Oracle-based WMS ahead of future plans to modernize its platform to Python, React and AWS.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, enhance and maintain Oracle PL/SQL packages, triggers and database objects within a large-scale transactional WMS environment.
  • Support warehouse operations processes including receiving, storage, batching, shipping and order fulfilment.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and developers to clarify requirements, validate business logic and ensure scalable solutions.
  • Handle support tickets (10–15% of time, primarily relating to third-party integrations) and participate in an on-call rotation (every 5 weeks) with offshore tier-1 support handling initial triage.
  • Work within an Agile environment using Jira for tracking, Microsoft Teams for communication, PL/SQL Developer for IDE and Heat for ticketing.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years of Oracle PL/SQL development experience.
  • 1+ years of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience.
  • Understanding of transactional systems supporting full warehouse operations (receiving, storing, batching, shipping, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently without heavy oversight while integrating with a collaborative team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Python (FastAPI) development experience.
  • AWS experience (especially related to data integration and queueing).
  • Familiarity with modernized front ends (React) and middleware transitions.
  • Experience mapping data from on-prem Oracle databases to AWS cloud-hosted solutions.
