Job description

Title: Seasonal Shipping Greenhouse Worker


Reporting to: Shipping Manager


Summary: This position supports basic greenhouse and nursery operations through safe, supervised, hands‑on tasks that do not require prior experience. All duties comply with Michigan youth employment laws and company’s internal guidelines.


This role focuses on plant care, organization, and general support tasks that help maintain healthy nursery stock and clean, functional work areas.


Applications: Candidates interested in this position should attend our weekly hiring events. Our weekly on-site hiring events occur every Wednesday at 9:00am EST. If you are interested in joining the team, please show up to one of these events; subject to a pre-employment drug screen and EVerify.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Pack, label, tag, pull, and store plants by variety.
  • Hand‑water and weed plants in greenhouses and fields
  • Move plants
  • Assist with spacing, organizing, and straightening plant material
  • Perform basic hand‑digging tasks (no machinery)
  • Assist with basic inventory counts
  • Perform simple data entry tasks on a computer
  • Help maintain tidy, organized workspaces
  • Use hoses, hand tools, greenhouse carts, computers, lawn care equipment (if over 16 years of age)
  • Lift, carry, and load/unload products or supplies.
  • Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Must possess the ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move 50 pounds
  • Bending, stooping and kneeling required.


Performance Requirements:

  • Must maintain a level of performance equivalent to company standards, that being a “Meets Expectations” in all areas of your performance evaluations.
  • All workers will be subject to a trial period of up to five days during which the employer will evaluate workers' performance of required tasks. Employer reserves the right to terminate a worker if the employer reasonably finds worker's performance during the trial period to be unacceptable.
  • Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any seasonal worker employed pursuant to this job, at the company's sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill, and tenure.
