Position Summary – Safety Intern

The Safety Intern will support the Safety team in promoting a strong safety culture across active construction projects. This role provides hands-on experience in construction safety practices, compliance, and field operations. The intern will gain exposure to real-world jobsite conditions while contributing to meaningful safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily jobsite safety inspections and audits
  • Support implementation of company safety programs and policies
  • Help ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and trainings
  • Observe and document jobsite conditions, identifying potential hazards
  • Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and documentation
  • Track and organize safety data, logs, and compliance records
  • Partner with field teams to reinforce safe work practices
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of safety procedures

Position Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field
  • Strong interest in construction safety and field operations
  • Basic understanding of OSHA standards (preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail and observational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, active construction environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk jobsites, climb stairs/ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety vest, boots, etc.)
