Job description

Spray Technician

Job Type: Full-time- 40 hours per week with occasional opportunities for overtime.
Hourly: Varies based on experience
Summary:
Spray Technician sprays weeds with pre/post emergent, sprays broadleaf weeds in turf, applies fertilizer, and performs specialty spray work as well. A Spray Technician follows all EPA guidelines and chemical handling practices and carries a current Spray License.
Reports to: Field Operations Manager
Responsibilities:
  1. Ensures quality chemical and fertilizer application.
  2. Understands how to apply and mix chemicals properly.
  3. Responsible for meeting daily route/project requirements of Green Summit Contracts.
  4. Oversees and manages 1 other person (spray tech helper).
  5. Proactively manages spray needs for the maintenance accounts.
  6. Responsible for safe operation of all equipment required to complete the work on any given workday.
  7. Meets productivity budgets for hours, gross margin, and book revenue. This includes checking timecards for accuracy and adjusting the schedule as needed.
  8. Meet with Account Manager, Field Operations Managers, and Crew Leaders on sites when needed.
  9. Provides training as needed to Green Summit Team Members.

  10. Observes safety and security procedures and reports any potentially unsafe conditions.
  11. Is consistently at work and on time and ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skills required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Operational Skills: Ability to operate a trencher, ability to drive a ¾ ton truck, or bigger, with a 18’ trailer hauling equipment. Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record. Current NMDA Spray Operator/Technician license preferred but can get one during first month of employment if you don’t have one already.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
