Job description

New Tech Global Staffing is currently seeking a Thermal Spray Operator for a client located in Houston, TX to join their team. This is a DIRECT HIREopportunity.

Pay: Competitive, based on experience ($25-$38/hour range)

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours/week (1st Shift)

Summary

Responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining thermal spray equipment to protect, enhance, and improve the wear resistance of components according to technical drawings and specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, precision measurement skills, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

Operate thermal spray processes including HVOF, HVAF, Plasma, and Twin Wire Arc

Set up machines and equipment according to job requirements and technical documentation

Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and technical drawings to determine specifications, coating requirements, and operational sequences

Select, prepare, and mount proper tooling, fixturing, masking paints, and putties

Perform first?piece inspections prior to production runs to verify tolerances and specifications

Use quality assurance tools such as micrometers, calipers, thickness gauges, and surface finish gauges to inspect finished parts

Continuously monitor spray operations to ensure proper coating quality and finish

Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshoot machine or process issues as they arise

Maintain detailed documentation of inspections and production results as required

Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times

Work independently or collaboratively with team members to meet production and quality goals

Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required

1-2 years of experience operating manufacturing or industrial equipment preferred

Experience in a machining or manufacturing environment strongly preferred

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints

Proficient in basic math including fractions, decimals, and metric?to?inch conversions

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Excellent attention to detail and quality focus

Manual dexterity and ability to work with precision tools

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong problem?solving skills

Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, hoisting parts, and standing for extended periods

Comfortable working around moving equipment, varying noise levels, and common manufacturing conditions
