Project Overview

We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Safety Spotter / Helper for a 10 to 13 week contract project at a large retail big box store in West Union, Ohio.

This role will support field technicians performing technology, infrastructure, and facility upgrade work inside an active retail environment. The work may include supporting technicians with network infrastructure, wireless systems, equipment installation, material movement, and general site assistance.

The Safety Spotter / Helper will be responsible for helping technicians work safely while also assisting with basic helper duties needed to keep the project moving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Safety Spotter to monitor technician activity and surrounding work areas

  • Maintain clear communication with technicians during installation and upgrade work

  • Watch for employees, equipment, carts, ladders, tools, materials, and other activity in the work area

  • Help ensure safe movement of equipment, tools, materials, and personnel

  • Identify and immediately report potential safety hazards

  • Assist technicians with basic helper duties, including moving materials, staging tools/ladders, cleanup, and general site support

  • Help keep the work area safe, clean, organized, and compliant

  • Follow all site safety rules and project instructions

  • Work safely and effectively during a night shift retail project environment

Required Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 Certification required

  • Prior experience working in retail stores, warehouses, construction sites, or distribution facilities

  • Strong situational awareness and commitment to safety

  • Ability to stay alert and attentive throughout the night shift

  • Willingness to perform both spotter duties and hands-on helper tasks

  • Reliable transportation to the West Union, Ohio job site

  • Ability to work a Sunday night through Thursday night schedule

  • Ability to work in an active retail big box store environment

Required PPE
