They use specialized vehicles, often called yard trucks or terminal tractors, to efficiently position trailers for loading, unloading, and storage. Their role is crucial for keeping warehouse operations running smoothly by ensuring that trailers are always in the right place at the right time. Spotter Yard Drivers must follow safety protocols and communicate closely with warehouse staff and truck drivers. This position typically requires a valid driver's license and knowledge of safe vehicle operation in a busy yard environment.
