Job description

Spotify's Global Experiential and Content Production team is seeking an Associate Director with well-rounded content and event production experience to join our team.
While this role sits within Global Communications, the impact is company-wide. You will support multiple functions across the business including Communications, Ads, Government Affairs, Product, Music, Creator, Podcast and Audiobooks teams-to bring their initiatives to life through strategic events and content.
Importantly: this team works alongside Spotify's Brand Experiential Marketing team. That team owns global consumer and brand marketing events. This team owns a defined set of experiential programs tied to communications priorities, creator/industry relationships, policy moments, company events, VIP/Influencer programming, thought leadership platforms, and other business-driven needs - not all events across Spotify.
As an Associate Director, you will play a key role in delivering high-impact creative content and managing live event production. You will build scalable solutions to maximize the success of these projects and support GECP's Director in the development, management, and execution of our team objectives and project goals. This is a senior creative and production role, guiding both the experiential work and content creation.
The role requires significant travel (domestic and international) up to 70%
What You'll Do
  • Lead the planning and delivery of live experiences including corporate programs, industry activations, creator and partner events, policy engagements, internal events, and VIP experiences
  • Shape end-to-end production, from concept through execution, ensuring high-quality creative and operational delivery
  • Bring strong expertise in stage production, including lighting, audio, and production design, to elevate each experience
  • Manage vendor and agency partnerships, selecting the right collaborators based on scale, complexity, and creative needs
  • Oversee content capture shoots, partnering with internal stakeholders from early development through on-site execution
  • Guide pre- and post-production workflows to deliver content on time and within budget
  • Align teams on creative direction, ensuring clarity across visual storytelling and editorial decisions
  • Build and manage budgets, timelines, and approval processes across multiple concurrent projects
  • Navigate legal and licensing requirements related to visuals, talent, and music usage
  • Partner with cross-functional senior leaders to bring ideas to life and solve complex business challenges
  • Contribute to building scalable processes, tools, and workflows across the team
  • Mentor and support producers while leading large-scale, high-visibility productions

Who You Are
  • You have 10+ years of experience in event, show, and content production
  • You are experienced in leading large-scale live productions and delivering high-quality creative outcomes
  • You know how to translate business goals into engaging, well-crafted experiences
  • You have a strong understanding of content production workflows, including pre- and post-production processes
  • You are experienced in managing agencies, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders across global teams
  • You have a deep understanding of staging, lighting, fabrication, and production design
  • You are comfortable managing budgets, contracts, and financial reconciliation
  • You communicate clearly and can navigate complex conversations with a range of stakeholders
  • You bring a global mindset and can collaborate effectively across regions and time zones
  • You care about building inclusive, collaborative environments and supporting diverse teams and partners
  • You are able to balance creative thinking with strong organization and prioritization skills

Where You'll Be
  • This role is based in New York City
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come in 2-3 times per week.

The United States base range for this position is $106,147 - $228, 781, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays.
