Is a web developer in demand?

Web developers, including sports web developers, are in high demand due to the growth of online platforms and digital content. Skills in programming languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience with content management systems increase employability, and many organizations seek developers for website design, maintenance, and updates.

Is AI replacing web devs?

AI is automating certain tasks in web development, such as code generation and testing, but it does not fully replace web developers. AI tools can enhance productivity but require human oversight and expertise for complex projects.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Sports Web Developer, and why are they important?

A Sports Web Developer should have strong skills in web programming languages (such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript), a solid understanding of sports data structures, and ideally a degree in computer science or related field. Experience with frameworks like React or Angular, content management systems, and familiarity with APIs for live sports data integration are commonly required. These competencies ensure the development of high-performing, interactive sports websites that meet user expectations and industry standards.

Job description

Job Description: Reports To: General Manager
Department: Marketing
Status: Full Time / Year Round
Date: 8/4/21Our Ethos:
Join us as we take on a re-envisioning of Ski Granby Ranch. We are a new resort and hospitality management company, but we have a way of doing business that has been forged by over forty years in the mountain resort and hospitality sectors. You will become part of an organization that is fundamentally biased towards team. We look for people who share our ethos:
• Team Success. We succeed only when the team succeeds; importantly, that success is the team’s success. We support each other with resources, constructive feedback, and positive encouragement.
• Continuous Improvement. We are in a constant mode of innovating, creating, and executing, all of which is thoughtfully balanced with a foundational sense of focus and attention to detail.
• Every Team Member Matters. We recognize the value and contributions of all team members, without question. We are snowmakers who quietly go about our duties at midnight; human resources professionals who navigate the challenges of business in mountain communities, and the back-of-house staff passionately dedicated to our craft. Whether you are a frontline team member or a divisional leader, we thrive under the philosophy that no role is insignificant.
• Professionalism & Relatability. We sit in boardrooms. We turn wrenches. We flip burgers. We believe an egalitarian culture, respect, shared passion, and a sense of community among mountain people is imperative to success.

This person should also exhibit a strong passion for guest connection – through creative and consistent communications on all digital channels.
The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of marketing experience, preferably within the travel and hospitality space and a high level of emotional intelligence, tenacity, and passion for the sport. He/she is not expected to have all the answers but the initiative and courage to ask the questions, learn quickly, and flex to constant change.
This position will work 10-months/year with the two months unpaid being tied to non-operational time periods for Granby Ranch. This position is an hourly role, but 40 hours/week is the expected workload with days off able to be negotiated. This position is based in Granby, CO.

• An extremely high level of initiative and ownership – when you see something, you take action.
• Talking to others to convey information effectively.
• Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
