DIRECTOR, PLAYFLY MAX (UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND)

THE RUNDOWN

Playfly Sports is looking for a lead for our Playfly Max team in College Park, MD. The Director will be responsible for generating NIL revenues on behalf of the Universityof Maryland to meet and exceed individual and team goals for Playfly Max. The person in this role will work on-site with the staff and University of Maryland Athletics, University of Maryland Athletics partners, collectives, and the Maryland Sports Properties staff to pitch and close commercial NIL partnership agreements, develop, lead and execute specialty revenue concepts and revenue-driving events, and develop comprehensive revenue strategies to support Maryland NIL and incremental revenues for the athletic department.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

Partner with athletic department to develop and execute a revenue plan to meet and exceed NIL revenue goals for Playfly Max at the University of Maryland.

Manage profit and loss & budget reports to maintain and exceed EBITDA budget

Prospect, meet and close a significant number of new and renewal high level NIL partnership deals.

Identify potential sponsors networking with university stakeholders & business partners and researching local, regional & national companies

Work with Maryland Sports Properties leadership and Maryland Athletics and collective executives to create sales inventory, revenue projections and overall revenue strategy for University of Maryland project assets

Develop sales presentations for new NIL marketing partners by incorporating research, category dynamics and an understanding of partner's marketing goals

Create sales proposals and draft/negotiate contracts with NIL sponsors

Develop key marketing objectives with clients thorough needs assessment and a collaborative sales process

Entertain and cultivate sponsors in non-game related settings

Prepare end-of-year recaps for partners

Represent Playfly Max, the University of Maryland, and Playfly Sports Properties in a professional manner

Research sports sponsorship and the NIL industry and stay current with relevant market trends and conditions

Build strong understanding of all Playfly business units and offerings in order to leverage new business areas, leads, and categories

Other job-related duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL BRING 

Bachelor's degree required

5+ years of relevant direct sales/revenue generation experience in the sports multi-media environment, event planning, non-sports multi-media, or fundraising environment, or similar industry with transferrable applicable skills

Proven ability in managing, meeting & exceeding budget & revenue goals

Familiarity with KORE or similar CRM system

Strong experience and understanding of integrated and "conceptual" sales

Ability to generate and present ideas and concepts succinctly and provide creative solutions to prospects/clients

Ability to develop and manage individual project P&L's to a desired positive net outcome

Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Demonstrated professional sales presentation skills

Must be driven and coachable to execute the Playfly Sports Properties revenue model and to understand the distinctive relationship with University of Maryland Athletics, collectives, school foundations and others

TRAVEL, LIFTING, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be available for game days and evening athletic events and other special events

Must be available to travel as needed for client presentations

Must be able to work nights and weekends around sporting and other special events
