Every day we honor our iconic brand by offering quality coverage to millions of customers and being there when they need us most. We thrive on relentless innovation to exceed our customers' expectations while making a real impact on local communities nationwide.

Founded in 1936, GEICO is a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies and one of the largest auto insurers in the United States. When you join our company, we want you to feel valued, supported, and proud to work here. That's why we offer the GEICO Pledge: Great Company, Great Culture, Great Rewards, and Great Careers.

Supervisor, Sports Marketing

Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite. Corporate offices in Chevy Chase, MD or Manhattan, NY.

Reports To: Sr. Manager, Sports & Experiential Marketing

Travel: Up to 20%, including occasional weekend and off-hours commitments

About the Role

Within Marketing at GEICO sports partnerships are a core part of how the brand shows up in culture. Getting the execution right is what makes those investments pay off.

The Supervisor, Sports Marketing owns the day-to-day activation of an assigned scope within GEICO's sports sponsorship portfolio. That means running working-level partner relationships, leading cross-functional project management across Social, Influencer, Creative, Analytics, and Go-to-Market, and taking activations from planning through launch and recap with precision.

This role rewards someone who is excellent at execution - holding complex programs together across many stakeholders - and who brings enough sports and sponsorship fluency to translate partnership assets into activations that actually land with fans.

How We Work

The Marketing organization at GEICO is guided by a clear set of principles: we hire the best at every level and invest in developing them. We believe that strategy comes before action - if we don't know why we're doing something, we don't do it. We bring the same care and accountability to how we spend resources as we would if it were our own business. And when there are challenges, we face them directly and collectively. Leaders in this organization are expected to bring that same mindset to their teams.

Key Responsibilities

Sponsorship Activation & Portfolio Management

  • Own day-to-day management of assigned sponsorships, ensuring partnership assets are fully utilized and programs are executed with excellence
  • Maintain working-level relationships with properties and partners - clear communication, accountability, and follow-through on contractual deliverables
  • Translate sponsorship rights and assets into actionable activation plans aligned to brand and business objectives
  • Support contracting and negotiation processes in partnership with agencies and internal stakeholders

Cross-Functional Project Management

  • Serve as the cross-functional project management lead across Social, Influencer, Creative, Analytics, and Go-to-Market - managing timelines, approvals, deliverables, and dependencies
  • Build and maintain workbacks, trackers, activation plans, and status updates across multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Partner with internal creative teams and external agencies to brief, develop, and deliver activation assets that meet program needs and brand standards
  • Collaborate with the Experiential Marketing team on sports-tied experiential executions, ensuring integrated planning and seamless handoffs

Measurement, Budget & Process

  • Support measurement and reporting by coordinating recap inputs, tracking deliverables, and capturing learnings for future activations
  • Assist with budget management through invoice processing and financial tracking
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen internal coordination and improve the efficiency of sports partnership activations

You May Be a Good Fit If You

  • Have owned end-to-end activation of sports sponsorships - from briefing and planning through launch and recap - and can point to programs you managed
  • Are a natural project manager: you hold complex cross-functional workstreams together without letting things fall through the cracks
  • Know the sports marketing landscape well enough to recognize a good activation opportunity and flag a bad one
  • Communicate clearly across partner types - properties, agencies, and internal teams - and keep work moving forward without needing constant direction
  • Bring an analytical mindset to recaps and learnings, not just a summary of what happened
  • Are a genuine sports fan - you follow the landscape, you know what's culturally resonant, and that enthusiasm is visible in how you talk about and approach the work

Ideal Experience

  • Experience: 6+ years in sports marketing, sponsorships, partnership marketing, or experiential marketing, with proven experience managing cross-functional activations from planning through recap
  • Sponsorship fluency: Deep familiarity with the sports marketing landscape - leagues, teams, schools, agencies, and partnership models
  • Project management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives with high organization, precision, and follow-through in a matrixed environment
  • Partner relationships: Experience managing working-level relationships with properties, agencies, and vendors while driving execution across internal teams
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to keep cross-functional teams aligned and moving
  • Analytical mindset: Experience using reporting and learnings to improve future activations
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, sports management, communications, or a related field preferred

Strong Candidates May Also Have

  • Direct relationships with properties, leagues, or agencies in the sports marketing ecosystem
  • Experience managing activations tied to experiential or live events
  • Exposure to budget management and invoice processing in a marketing or partnerships context
