In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. Sales Manager (Regular Full-Time)

Position Summary

The Sales Manager will partner closely with station leadership to drive revenue growth, optimize sales performance, and maximize profitability across KRIV/KTXH's portfolio. This role combines strategic oversight with day-to-day leadership of account executives, ensuring strong execution across broadcast, digital, and emerging platforms. This role requires strong expertise in political sales, including a solid understanding of FCC regulations and compliance. The Sales Manager leads the execution of strategic sales initiatives, mentors a team of Account Executives, and builds strong relationships with local clients and national agencies to maximize market share.

Drawing from a deep understanding of media sales, pricing strategy, and client development, the Sales Manager will help identify new revenue opportunities while strengthening existing business relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives to consistently exceed revenue targets across local, national, and digital platforms.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Coach, mentor, and motivate Account Executives to achieve individual and team goals, fostering a high-performance sales culture.

  • Client & Agency Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with key clients, agencies, and partners to drive long-term business growth and retention.

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Collaborate with leadership to implement pricing strategies, manage inventory, and maximize yield across all platforms.

  • Cross-Platform Sales Integration: Champion the integration of digital, streaming, and OTT solutions alongside linear broadcast offerings to deliver comprehensive marketing solutions.

  • Political Advertising: Oversee FOX 26 Houston's political advertising strategy and execution across all platforms, ensuring compliance with FCC regulations and internal processes.

  • Revenue Optimization: Identify and grow non-traditional revenue streams including sponsorships, sports, political, and special programming opportunities.

  • Forecasting & Analytics: Support accurate revenue forecasting, pipeline management, and performance reporting to inform business decisions.

  • Collaboration & Operations: Work closely with traffic, research, and station departments to ensure seamless campaign execution and client satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

Experience & Education

  • 5+ years of experience in broadcast and/or digital media sales

  • Prior sales leadership or senior account executive experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Sales Leadership Skills

  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive revenue growth

  • Strong understanding of media sales, pricing, and inventory management

Business & Market Acumen

  • Experience with digital advertising and cross-platform sales strategies

  • Knowledge of political advertising and sports sales is a plus

Communication & Negotiation

  • Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to close complex, high-value deals

Technical Proficiency

  • Familiarity with broadcast sales systems and digital platforms

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Salary range for this position is $170K-$180K along with potential for additional sales bonuses.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $85,000.00-90,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
