Job description

This Sports Medicine Nurse Practitioner serves as an advanced-practice provider within a busy academic orthopaedic department supporting the Sports Medicine Division. This position will primarily work out of the acclaimed Marshall Sports Medicine Institute and its satellite offices throughout the Tri-State area. The incumbent delivers exceptional, patient-centric care by treating patients independently in the office setting, serving as a first assistant in the operating room, and providing continuity of care between physician visits.

About Marshall Sports Medicine Institute (MSMI)

MSMI houses all of the disciplines related to sports medicine under one roof, providing advanced, coordinated care. Orthopaedic sports medicine physicians treat injuries for Thundering Herd athletes and active people alike — working closely with athletic trainers, therapists and other specialists to offer an innovative, multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation, recovery and performance improvement.

About Marshall Orthopaedics

Marshall Orthopaedics is an academic-based physician group affiliated with Marshall University’s Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. Based in Huntington, West Virginia, the group provides orthopaedic care across West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio through a network of hospital- and clinic-based practices. Physicians are fellowship-trained across the full spectrum of orthopaedic subspecialties. The department supports an ACGME-accredited orthopaedic residency program training four residents per class.
