Job description

Your job is more than a job.

The RN Staff Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care based on the standards of care and the policies of LCMC Health. The RN delegates to professional and non-professional personnel involved in the delivery of care.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care:

  • A
    • ssess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients in the sports medicine unit.

  • M
    • onitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall health status, responding promptly to any changes.

  • A
    • dminister medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

  • P
    • rovide post-operative care, including wound care, pain management, and patient education.

    2. Assisting in Procedures and Surgeries:

  • A
    • ssist in preparing and positioning patients for in-clinic procedures and surgeries.

  • S
    • upport surgeons and medical staff during in and outpatient surgical procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and patient safety.

  • E
    • nsure all necessary equipment and supplies are available and prepared for procedures.

    3. Coordination and Collaboration:

  • C
    • ollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and execute effective care plans.

    • ommunicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and post-operative care.

    • oordinate patient transfers, admissions, and discharges, ensuring continuity of care.

    4. Documentation and Compliance:

    • aintain accurate and thorough records of all patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.

    • nsure compliance with all regulatory requirements and institutional policies, including infection control and patient safety standards.

    • articipate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in sports medicine care.

    5. Professional Development:

    • tay current with advancements in sports medicine nursing through continuous education and professional development.

    • articipate in department meetings, case reviews, and training sessions.

    Qualifications:

    • strong>Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

    • strong>Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [State].

    • strong>Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in sports medicine, orthopedics, or a related field.
