Job description

Overview

The YMCA of the Pueblo is looking for a compassionate, patient Site Leader to join our After Care program and help us to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our school aged children. The responsibilities of the Site Leader include creating an enriching learning environment and looking after the basic needs of the children under their care. To be a successful Site Leader, you should be patient, enthusiastic, and fun-loving. Ultimately, a top-notch Site Leader loves working with children and is passionate about child development and care.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Site Leader will administer, organize, and implement School Age Child Care Programs. You will provide leadership and supervision of the After Care Staff and programming. As the Site Leader, you will oversee administrative and program details. Each day, our Site Leader has the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children, creating joy in each child's life by teaching through play and hands-on activities.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises, implements, and directs childcare program and other program staff for specific site.
  • Understands and maintains state licensing rules and regulations and YMCA childcare program standards
  • Develops positive relationships with children and parents.
  • Encourages member involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
  • Controls, orders supply and maintains inventory.
  • Ensures pertinent site records, files and other required administrative procedures are completed and maintained.
  • Provides and is responsible at maintaining a clean work environment.ย 
  • Support staff management with time, attendance, and subbing needs.ย 
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Must enjoy working with children.
  • Safe driving record. A current MVR will be required.
  • Possess an appropriate class license.
  • Knowledge of the rules/guidelines related to commercial passenger vehicles (bus).
  • Current state approved CPR & First-Aid certification (or must obtain within first 30 days).
  • Fingerprint clearance.
  • Documentation of high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Two years of college, preferred.
