Job description

About LOVB (League One Volleyball):
League One Volleyball (LOVB) is reimagining women's sports. Launched in 2019, our company is a mission-led sports performance, training and media enterprise that will change the game of volleyball in the USA and empower new generations of female athletes.
It is a groundbreaking time for volleyball in the US with our historic triple Olympic Gold medals in Women's Indoor, Beach and Sitting Volleyball. Volleyball is already the #1 most played girls' youth sport. There are 38M current and former players today. Of major sports, it's the only one that is women-first (~90% of players are female). But the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands, and media.
LOVB is capturing this opportunity by creating a strong club business, and from that built-in audience and fandom, is creating the best Pro League in the world and a digital ecosystem that will connect all aspects of LOVB. This community-up approach will drive participation and fandom, while enabling greater empowerment for girls and young women living this amazing sport. In this role, you will join a mission-driven, roll-up-your-sleeves team of innovators and builders who have come together to change the paradigm of professional volleyball and women's sports.
Title: Director, Ticketing & Operations
Location: LOVB Salt Lake City (Synergy Sports Capital)
Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic, growth-oriented Director, Ticketing & Operations to lead ticket sales, ticketing operations, customer service, and key day-to-day commercial operations for the LOVB Salt Lake City franchise, with additional collaboration across Synergy Sports Capital's portfolio of sports teams and assets. Reporting to the Interim President of LOVB Salt Lake City and working closely with the Synergy Sports Capital operations team, this role is directly responsible for driving ticket revenue, growing and retaining the season ticket base, and delivering an exceptional experience for fans and ticket holders.
The Director will oversee the full ticketing lifecycle-including sales strategy, lead generation, renewals, account management, ticket inventory systems, and event-day ticket operations. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for an entrepreneurial leader who can build scalable processes, develop a high-performing sales function, and balance long-term strategy with day-to-day execution in a growing sports organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Ticket Sales & Revenue Growth
  • Revenue Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to drive full-season, partial-plan, group, premium, and single-match ticket sales.
  • Pipeline & Lead Generation: Build and manage the ticket sales pipeline through outbound prospecting, referrals, community outreach, events, and targeted sales campaigns.
  • Sales Team Leadership: Recruit, onboard, train, and manage seasonal or full-time ticket sales representatives as the revenue function expands.
  • Sales Execution: Directly participate in high-value sales activity, corporate group pitches, and key account management.

Retention & Customer Service
  • Retention Strategy: Develop and execute season ticket member renewal and retention programs to maximize fan lifetime value.
  • Member Engagement: Plan and execute season ticket member events, exclusive benefits, communications, and engagement opportunities.
  • Service Excellence: Ensure timely, professional resolution of ticket holder questions, concerns, and service issues while continually improving the customer journey.

Ticketing Operations & Event Execution
  • Inventory Management: Oversee ticket inventory, account setup, seat manifests, offer creation, fulfillment, exchanges, and event-day box office operations.
  • Vendor & Venue Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison with the team's ticketing platform (e.g., Ticketmaster/Archtics), venue ticket offices, and related technology vendors.
  • Allocations & Governance: Coordinate ticket holds, complimentary tickets, sponsor allocations, player/staff requests, and league ticketing requirements.
  • Match-Day Operations: Manage box office readiness, guest issue resolution, credentialing, and gate entry experience on event days.

Reporting, Data & Forecasting
  • Financial Modeling: Develop ticket revenue projections, sales forecasts, pacing reports, and real-time performance dashboards.
  • Analytics & CRM: Track and analyze customer data, attendance, sales velocity, and renewal rates within ticketing and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) to identify market opportunities.
  • Finance Alignment: Partner with Finance to support budgeting, revenue reconciliation, ticket audits, and commission administration.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Portfolio Support
  • Marketing & Sponsorship Alignment: Partner with Marketing to build lead-generation campaigns and collaborate with Sponsorship to fulfill partner ticketing benefits and hospitality packages.
  • Cross-Portfolio Synergy: Provide ticketing leadership, market insights, and operational support for other Synergy Sports Capital sports assets and live events as needed.
  • Match-Day Execution: Work closely with venue, event operations, and league stakeholders to ensure seamless event-day delivery.

Qualifications:
  • 5-7+ years of progressive experience in ticket sales, ticketing operations, revenue generation, or customer retention, ideally within professional sports, collegiate athletics, or major live entertainment.
  • Proven track record of developing revenue-generating sales strategies, building sales pipelines, and managing sales teams.
  • Strong technical fluency with primary ticketing engines and CRM systems (e.g., Ticketmaster, Archtics, Salesforce, or equivalent platforms).
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to translate ticketing data into actionable pricing and packaging recommendations.
  • Strong project management, collaboration, and leadership skills in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial sports environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience required.
