The Senior Sports Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and leading the execution of Red Bull's regional Sports Marketing strategy. Through the strategic management of events, athlete programs, and team partnerships, the Senior Sports Marketing Manager drives brand relevance, consumer engagement, and cultural impact within the region. This role identifies and creates opportunities to build strong local and regional brand affinity while ensuring alignment with Red Bull's national and global Sports Marketing priorities. This person will  lead cross-functional collaboration, manage key stakeholder relationships, and deliver innovative, high-impact initiatives that strengthen Red Bull's position at the center of sport and culture.

Job Description

ATHLETES AND INFLUENCERS

Build and maintain a strong network across regional sports communities to stay ahead of emerging trends, talent, and cultural movements relevant to Red Bull.

In collaboration with Athlete Marketing Managers and the National Athlete Marketing team, identify, recruit, develop, and manage relationships with high-potential athlete talent that aligns with Red Bull's brand values and strategic priorities.

Partner cross-functionally with Media Network, Communications, Partnerships, and Field Marketing teams to maximize athlete storytelling opportunities and audience reach.

Support the development of athlete pathways by identifying emerging talent and creating opportunities for progression within Red Bull's athlete ecosystem.

Maintain a deep understanding of the regional sports landscape, including key athletes, influencers, teams, events, and cultural trends, to inform strategic planning and talent decisions.

Ensure athlete activities are executed to the highest standards, delivering measurable impact for both the athlete and the Red Bull brand.

EVENT INITIATIVES & PROJECTS

Influence and contribute to the annual Region Sports Marketing Business Plan

Lead the project management and provide execution support of local Red Bull Sports Marketing events

Use knowledge of local sports scenes and sports landscape to inform development of new event concepts

Oversee regional Sports Marketing resources to maximize the impact of local events.

Contribute to the development of the annual Regional Sports Marketing Business Plan by identifying strategic opportunities, emerging trends, and growth initiatives that support regional, national, and global objectives.

Lead the planning, project management, and execution of national and regional Sports Marketing events, ensuring programs are delivered on time, on budget, and to Red Bull's standards of excellence.

Leverage deep knowledge of the regional sports landscape, consumer behaviors, and cultural trends to identify opportunities and develop innovative event concepts that drive brand relevance and engagement.

Oversee and optimize regional Sports Marketing resources, budgets, and assets to maximize the effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of all event initiatives.

Provide leadership, guidance, and executional support to Athlete Marketing Managers and Event Marketing Managers in the development and delivery of athlete projects, sports events, and integrated marketing initiatives.

Ensure all events and projects align with Red Bull's strategic priorities, delivering meaningful consumer experiences while contributing to broader business and brand objectives.

Foster collaboration across internal and external stakeholders, including athletes, partners, agencies, and cross-functional teams, to successfully execute impactful sports marketing programs.

Evaluate event and project performance, leveraging insights and learnings to continuously improve future initiatives and drive innovation across the regional Sports Marketing portfolio.

COLLABORATION & DISCOVERY

Lead and foster cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Event Logistics, Athlete Marketing Managers, Event Marketing Managers, and other key stakeholders to ensure strategic planning, flawless execution, and maximum impact of all regional Sports Marketing initiatives.

Act as a central connector across the organization, aligning teams around shared objectives and ensuring Sports Marketing activities contribute to broader business, brand, and commercial goals.

Identify and champion relevant sports stories, cultural moments, athlete narratives, and content opportunities that can be leveraged across owned, earned, shared, and paid media channels to amplify Red Bull's presence and relevance.

Partner closely with Athlete Marketing, Media Network, Communications, Partnerships, and Field Marketing teams to develop integrated marketing plans that maximize the reach and effectiveness of Sports Marketing programs.

Collaborate with the Santa Monica Athlete Marketing team to develop and execute regional team partnership strategies, bringing partnerships to life through comprehensive 360-degree marketing plans that drive consumer engagement and business impact.

Maintain a strong understanding of regional sports communities, consumer trends, and emerging opportunities to uncover new ideas, partnerships, and growth platforms for the brand.

Facilitate knowledge sharing and best-practice exchange across regional, national, and global teams to ensure alignment and continuous improvement of Sports Marketing initiatives.

Serve as a strategic thought partner to internal stakeholders by identifying opportunities to connect athletes, events, content, and partnerships into cohesive consumer-facing experiences.

Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing talent capable of delivering impactful Sports Marketing programs and advancing Red Bull's strategic objectives.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive experience in Sports Marketing, with a demonstrated track record of delivering impactful consumer-facing programs.

Deep understanding of sports culture, athlete ecosystems, and consumer engagement strategies, with the ability to identify and capitalize on emerging trends at both regional and national levels.

Strong knowledge of traditional, digital, experiential, and non-traditional marketing strategies, with an ability to integrate channels into cohesive and effective marketing plans.

Proven experience developing and executing innovative marketing concepts that drive brand relevance, consumer engagement, and measurable business outcomes.

Demonstrated success managing complex projects, multiple priorities, and cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Significant experience managing large budgets and resources, including forecasting, planning, allocation, and performance tracking to maximize return on investment.

Strong understanding of marketing communications, content strategy, and storytelling, with the ability to identify compelling narratives and translate them into impactful consumer experiences.

Experience working with athletes, influencers, teams, leagues, events, or sports properties, including partnership development, relationship management, and activation.

Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Passion for sports, culture, and the Red Bull brand, with a deep understanding of the role sports marketing plays in driving brand affinity and business growth.

The base salary range for this position is $115,280 - 172,920 + cash incentives.
