Job Type Faculty Position Title Assistant Visiting Professor (Sports Management) for the Department of Kinesiology, Sports Studies, and Physical Education Position Number FV9995 Department Kinesiology,Sports Studies & Physical Education Location Morehouse College - Atlanta GA Position Summary
The Department of Kinesiology, Sports Studies, and Physical Education at Morehouse College invites applications for a Visiting Professor position In Sports Management to begin August 1, 2026, for the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidate will help advance Morehouse College's mission through teaching. scholarship, and service. The individual hired will be expected to teach full-time (3,3 load) in sports management, with general education courses. Additional responsibilities include advising and mentoring students majoring in Kinesiology, Sports Studies, and Physical Education, and engaging in scholarly work and institutional service. This position is part of a faculty expansion approved by the Morehouse College Board of Trustees and Office of the Provost for academic year 2026-2027. Dr. Claude P. Hutto, Sr .. Dean of the Division of Professional and Continuing Studies, will serve as Chair of the Search Committee.
Required Qualifications
Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Sport Management, Kinesiology, and Physical Education or a closely related field.
Ph. D. candidates with a masters in sports management will be considered.
Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level.
Evidence of an emerging or established scholarly research agenda in sports management, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related fields.
Commitment to mentoring undergraduate students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds.
