Local Team Collaboration:
  • Become part of a cohesive and long-standing hospitalist team of 6 physicians serving this 151-bed hospital.
  • Semi-open ICU coverage is supported by the Sound Physicians Critical Care team, with telemedicine ICU coverage provided during the night.
Qualifications:
  • Board-certified/eligible in family or internal medicine.
  • Active medical license or eligible to become licensed in Montana.
  • Live within a commutable distance. This position does not provide travel and lodging support.
Scheduling:
  • Primarily days - hours are 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
  • May have night needs also 5:00 pm - 7:00 am .
  • 2 Physicians work daily, and 1 physician works at night.
  • No procedures required.
  • All providers prioritize a manageable workload and work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Thrive on managing bread and butter, as well as challenging and complex cases.
  • Operate within a semi-open ICU setting with no expectations of procedures and solid support from Critical Care physicians.

The city stays active with events, outdoor activities, local breweries, and an abundance of city parks. Home of the University of Montana, Missoula is popular with Division 1 sports lovers (they love their football team) and academics alike. The beautiful Clark Fork River runs through the city center, and the area offers ample fly fishing, mountain biking, hiking, trail running, & skiing. American Landmarks like Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park are just a short drive away, and Missoula's airport also has daily flights to major cities serviced by four major airlines.

  • Highly competitive shift rate compensation for each shift worked as a PRN Hospitalist.
