Position Overview
Bonneville Phoenix internships are semester-long opportunities for college students to gain a fuller understanding of the broadcast industry and expand their skill sets. This internship is in our Sports Programming and Digital departments.
Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.
  • This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Phoenix site.

What You Will Do:
ARIZONASPORTS.COM DIGITAL CONTENT/98.7FM ARIZONA SPORTS PROGRAMMING INTERNSHIP (This intern will split their time between digital content on ArizonaSports.com and sports programming on 98.7 FM Arizona's Sports Station)
  • Digital Content - Purpose is to learn all aspects of digital's contribution in the newsroom. The intern will gain experience in writing and publishing quality sports news stories from press releases, interviews, raw audio, aggregation and social media. The intern will also learn about the strategy and planning needed to maintain a sports news website.
  • Sports Programming (98.7 FM) - Purpose is to learn the "behind-the-scenes" aspect of sports programming. The intern will observe and interact with sports talk show producers and hosts, learn how to pull audio and how to edit and use that audio for a show, learn how to produce and edit sports interviews and learn how a talk show comes together from planning to execution.

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be currently registered as a college/university student, eligible to receive internship credit through their educational institution.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Schedule is between 15 and 25 hours per week depending on school requirements.
  • No guarantee of employment upon completion of internship

Physical Demands
  • Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds on occasion.

Compensation Range
$15.15 per hour.
