Job description

The Savannah Ghost Pirates are seeking a creative, motivated, and passionate Graphic Design Intern for the 2026-27 season. This hands-on opportunity provides valuable experience within a premier ECHL hockey organization and is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build a portfolio in sports media, graphic design, photo production, and digital content creation. All applications will be kept on file until the start of the internship program for which candidates apply.
Timeline: September 2026 - April 2027 (or at the completion of Playoffs)
Position Overview
The Graphic Design Intern will assist in creating digital and print graphics for the Savannah Ghost Pirates. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and heavily involved in game-day entertainment, social media, marketing campaigns, and fan engagement. This is an in-office position based in Savannah and includes required game-day availability for nights, weekends, and special events.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator (knowledge of After Effects and Premier are a plus)
  • Knowledge of sports design trends and social media content styles
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, and branding
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and game days
  • Basic motion graphics or video editing experience is a plus
  • Portfolio or samples of previous design work required

As a Graphic Design Intern, Your Responsibilities May Include:
  • Design graphics for social media, video boards, marketing campaigns, promotions, and sponsorship activations
  • Assist with game-day creative needs
  • Create player graphics, hype graphics, score updates, promotional materials, and themed-night branding
  • Support the marketing and creative teams with content ideation and execution
  • Edit and resize graphics for multiple platforms and formats
  • Help maintain brand consistency across all creative materials
  • Capture and organize creative assets during games and events when needed

Internship Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field
  • Housing and transportation in Savannah or the surrounding area
  • Availability to work home games, select road games, and designated office hours
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects and Premiere Pro
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality creative standards
