Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed assessments and develop tailored rehabilitation programs for athletes and other active clients, setting specific recovery milestones and performance goals.
  • Work collaboratively with orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians, aligning treatment strategies and tracking progress towards function and fitness goals.
  • Utilize advanced therapeutic techniques such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and neuromuscular re-education to facilitate recovery and enhance performance.
  • Provide thorough patient education to clients and their families on managing injuries, enhancing athletic performance, and implementing long-term wellness strategies.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress using electronic medical records (EMR), ensuring compliance with regulations and facilitating interdisciplinary communication.
  • Engage in community outreach programs, advocating for injury prevention initiatives and sports health education.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on athletes and active individuals seeking to recover from sports-related injuries and improve their physical capabilities. This includes a diverse range of conditions, from acute injuries to chronic pain, and requires a comprehensive understanding of sports biomechanics and rehabilitation principles.

Qualifications
  • Doctorate (DPT) or Masterโ€™s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current Florida PT license or eligibility to obtain one before your start date.
  • A minimum of 2 yearsโ€™ experience working in sports medicine or orthopedic physical therapy.
  • Certification as a Sports Certified Specialist (SCS) or plans to acquire this credential is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication skills, demonstrating a patient-centered approach and the ability to motivate and engage clients.
  • CPR and BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
