Job description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Splunk Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
As a key engineer on the Telemetry team, you will be responsible for telemetry and data analytics focused on one of the world's largest PC endpoint device environments. This role involves creating sophisticated Splunk queries using SPL, integrating information with related data from other internal systems, and developing custom dashboards and reporting for a wide variety of users including product managers, engineers, and operations personnel.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and engineer telemetry and data analytics solutions
  • Create sophisticated Splunk queries using SPL
  • Integrate data with information from other internal systems
  • Develop custom dashboards and reporting for various users across the company

Requirements:
  • Strong expertise and experience with Splunk development (SPL) and creation of user-accessible custom dashboards
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system and its key monitoring and management capabilities
  • 3+ years' experience with monitoring and reporting systems for a large enterprise environment
  • 3+ years' experience with effective operational scripting and improvement
  • Working knowledge of current programming languages such as Python and Groovy
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the fundamentals of networking, databases, and applications and their interdependencies
  • Working knowledge of Splunk infrastructure architecture

Desired skills:
  • Experience with Splunk infrastructure administration
  • Understanding of IT operational processes (e.g., ITIL concepts)
  • General understanding of Large Data Sets
  • Understanding of Perl, Python, Windows Batch, or VBScript

Pay range: $58.31 - $66.31 per hour
