Job description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Splunk Consultant in Columbia, MD. The Splunk Consultant will be responsible for working with clients to understand their business needs, implementing and configuring Splunk products, developing custom solutions, and providing Splunk expertise and support to clients. In this role, the Splunk Consultant will also collaborate with other teams internally and externally to ensure successful project delivery.

Role Overview

As a Splunk ITSI expert, you will lead the development, planning, and execution of analytical practices across customer environments. Your responsibilities will include operating and maintaining Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) to provide real‑time monitoring, root cause analysis, and proactive incident response, enhancing the availability and performance of critical enterprise services. You will align customer KPIs with machine learning and AIOps features, and create glass tables, custom visualizations, and deep‑dive analytics that correlate metrics, manage service dependencies, and reduce noise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership for IT management solutions that predict incidents and ensure enterprise service availability
  • Operate and maintain Splunk ITSI for real‑time monitoring, KPI alignment, root cause analysis, and proactive incident response
  • Develop glass tables, custom visualizations, and deep‑dive analytics to correlate metrics and manage service dependencies
  • Implement policies and practices for event/noise reduction using ML and AIOps features
  • Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs, SLIs, and SLOs and translate them into actionable dashboards and alerts
  • Mentor teams on best practices in observability, data onboarding, and ITSI content packs
