Position: Sr Cloud Splunk Specialist
Location: Miramar, FL - Onsite 4x a week Mon-Thurs
Duration: 6 Month Contract
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an expert Splunk Cloud ES & AI Specialist to lead the architecture, detection engineering, and intelligent automation of our enterprise Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) ecosystem. While this role heavily leverages cutting edge AI/ML capabilities within Splunk Cloud, Splunk Enterprise Security ES and SOAR, the ideal candidate will also bring solid familiarity with Cribl Cloud at an enterprise level to help streamline telemetry pipeline management, log pre processing, and data routing before it reaches Splunk.
The ideal candidate will drive our security operations forward by building advanced threat detection models, integrating AI driven analytics, optimizing Splunk ES performance, and collaborating on data pipeline strategies with Cribl.
Key Responsibilities
  • Splunk Cloud ES & AI Architecture: Design, deploy, and optimize enterprise grade Splunk Cloud ES environments, leveraging Splunk AI/ML assistant tools, MLTK (Machine Learning Toolkit), and predictive analytics for advanced threat detection and operational insights.
  • Detection Engineering & Security Analytics: Develop, tune, and maintain high fidelity correlation searches, risk based alerting RBA frameworks, and AI driven security automation playbooks.
  • Enterprise Telemetry & Cribl Integration: Collaborate on the management and optimization of Cribl Cloudpipelines to efficiently filter, enrich, mask, and route telemetry data prior to ingestion into Splunk Cloud ES.
  • Ingestion Efficiency & Performance: Ensure high-volume security log sources are properly parsed, normalized (CIM compliance), indexed, and optimized for search performance and cost management.
  • AI & Automation Innovation: Identify opportunities to apply generative AI, machine learning, and automated threat hunting techniques to reduce mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to respond (MTTR).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Incident Response, SecOps, and threat teams to continuously enhance Splunk/SOAR visibility, compliance, and telemetry governance.
Required Qualifications
  • Deep Expertise in Splunk Cloud & Splunk ES: Proven track record designing, configuring, and maintaining complex Splunk Enterprise Security environments at scale.
  • AI / Machine Learning for SIEM: Hands on experience applying AI, natural language processing, or ML models within a security/observability context.
  • Enterprise Cribl Cloud Familiarity: Practical experience working with Cribl Cloud (Cribl Stream) to route, transform, filter, and optimize enterprise log flows.
  • Advanced Security Analytics: Expertise in SPL, CIM, RBA, and threat detection engineering.
  • Scripting & Automation: Strong proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash, alongside REST API integrations for security automation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Splunk Certifications: Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Admin, Splunk Cloud Certified Admin.
  • Cribl Certifications: Cribl Certified Admin (CCA) or Cribl Certified User (CCU).
  • Security & AI Credentials: CISSP, CISM, or specialized machine learning/AI certifications in cybersecurity.
