Basic Purpose:

The Front Desk Clerk & Recreation Attendant is responsible for providing professional and courteous service to guests while supporting the hotel's children's program. This role combines front desk responsibilities with the supervision and facilitation of Kids Club activities, ensuring a safe, engaging, and memorable experience for families while maintaining accurate records and supporting daily operations.

Essential Functions:
  • Greet guests and assist with check-in, check-out, reservations, and general inquiries.
  • Promote hotel amenities and Kids Club programming to enhance the guest experience.
  • Supervise children participating in Splash Kamp, ensuring safety, engagement, and appropriate behavior at all times.
  • Maintain accurate headcounts and ensure safe movement of children between activity areas.
  • Lead and facilitate scheduled activities including arts and crafts, games, storytelling, and outdoor play.
  • Adapt activities to meet varying age groups, abilities, and guest needs.
  • Follow all safety procedures, emergency protocols, and child supervision guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents or minor injuries and complete required documentation.
  • Communicate clearly with parents regarding program details, expectations, and child participation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of Kids Club spaces, including sanitizing toys and equipment.
  • Prepare, organize, and restock activity materials and supplies.
  • Maintain attendance records, waivers, and required documentation in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Support special events, themed programming, and family-focused activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or a degree in hospitality, tourism, or hotel management preferred.

Experience:

1. Previous experience as a hotel front desk agent, receptionist, or similar customer service role preferred.

2. Experience working with children in a childcare, camp, recreation, or similar setting preferred.

3. Experience with hotel reservation systems such as Cloudbeds, RoomKeyPMS, or similar property management systems preferred.

4. Familiarity with online travel and booking platforms such as Booking.com and TripAdvisor preferred.

5. Experience providing customer service in a hospitality or service-oriented environment.

Skills & Abilities:

Must be able to walk, reach, bend, and stoop as needed to complete daily tasks and actively participate in children's activities. The position requires frequent use of hands for repetitive motions such as typing and handling materials. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally, including activity supplies or equipment. Clear verbal communication in person and over the phone is required.
