Work Environment

This role is designed to be performed entirely remotely, offering flexible work arrangements that promote a healthy work-life balance. The regular work week is set from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, allowing for a structured yet adaptable schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, evaluating their psychological and emotional needs, and identifying treatment goals.
  • Provide tailored individual and group counseling sessions to help elderly clients cope with life transitions, loss, and associated mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement personalized care plans aimed at improving the clients' overall well-being.
  • Deliver educational workshops and resources aimed at equipping families and caregivers with strategies to support the mental health of elderly individuals.
  • Facilitate grief counseling sessions that assist clients and their families in processing loss and finding solace during end-of-life transitions.
  • Implement cognitive stimulation activities and evidence-based mental health interventions to support cognitive functions in elderly clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on providing mental health counseling specifically for elderly individuals facing various mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment disorders. Our clients are often navigating substantial life changes such as retirement, loss of loved ones, and the challenges associated with chronic health conditions. The support offered in this role is critical in promoting emotional resilience, enhancing their quality of life, and fostering a sense of connection in an often isolating phase of life.

Qualifications
  • A valid Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
  • At least four years of recent clinical experience, specifically in geriatric counseling and mental health support.
  • Demonstrable understanding of evidence-based interventions tailored for older adults.
