Position Overview

The Arista Wireless SME is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role within a professional IT services organization, serving as the technical authority for enterprise wireless architecture. This position demands expertise in Aristaโ€™s next-generation wireless platforms, with demonstrable experience designing, deploying, and supporting Arista Cognitive Wi-Fi and CloudVision Cognitive Unified Edge (CV-CUE) solutions.ย 

The role blends solution design, field deployment leadership, pre-sales technical scoping, and escalation support, operating as both an architect and hands-on technical mentor to delivery teams.

Core ResponsibilitiesWireless Architecture & Design
  • Serve as the primary wireless domain expert, with deep, hands-on experience in Arista Wireless architecture, hardware, and cloud-managed technologies

  • Design enterprise-grade wireless solutions leveraging Aristaโ€™s cognitive networking capabilities, including:

    • CloudVision Cognitive Unified Edge (CV-CUE) centralized management, orchestration, and AI/ML-driven automation planes

    • Cognitive Wi-Fi platforms that provide data-driven telemetry, real-time analytics, and automatic optimization of wireless connections as network conditions evolve

    • Multi-radio, multifunction AP deployments with support for cutting-edge standards such as Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7, zero-touch onboarding, and high-density coverage modelsย 

  • Develop high-level and low-level wireless designs (HLDs/LLDs) incorporating:

    • RF design, capacity planning, AP placement, and cognitive tuning mechanisms

    • Zero Trust and WIPS security configurations integrated with cloud orchestration

    • Flexible data path options and scalable control-plane architectures inherent to CloudVisionโ€™s cognitive approachย

Deployment Leadership & Technical Execution
  • Lead and direct wireless deployment efforts in customer environments and ensure alignment to Arista cognitive design principles

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers through:

    • Zero-touch provisioning and onboarding of Arista AP platforms via CV-CUE

    • Implementation of AI/ML-enabled analytics and automated remediation features

    • Integration of AP connectivity with hosted identity management and external NAC solutions

  • Validate configurations and deployments to ensure stable, optimized performance across cognitive AP platforms and centralized CloudVision management \

Pre-Sales Scoping & Technical Support
  • Participate in pre-sales scoping calls with sales and delivery leadership

  • Provide detailed input on:

    • The effort required to transition customers from legacy Wi-Fi environments to Arista, Cisco, Aruba and other OEM's orย managed architectures

    • Level of Effort (LOE) estimation for discovery, design, deployment, optimization, and cutover phases

  • Validate technical assumptions for proposals and SOWs based on real experience with Arista cloud-native wireless technologies

Escalation & Customer Assurance
  • Serve as the escalation point for delivery issues related to:

    • Wi-Fi behavior under load and real-world spectrum conditions

    • Automation orchestration failures or troubleshooting of AI/ML-driven recommendations

    • Cross-domain issues spanning wired/wireless convergence and identity enforcement

  • Engage directly in customer escalation calls to remediate issues, restore confidence, and guide recovery

    • Hands-on design, deployment, and operational experience with:

      • Arista Cognitive Wi-Fi access point platforms (Wi-Fi 6/6E/7)

      • CloudVision Cognitive Unified Edge (CV-CUE) centralized management and cognitive analytics

      • AI/ML-driven automation, telemetry, and troubleshooting inherent to Arista cognitive networkingย 

  • HPE Aruba Wireless

    • Enterprise Aruba wireless design and deployment experience

  • Juniper Wireless

    • Familiarity with Juniper Mist and related wireless platforms

  • Cisco Wireless

    • Experience with Cisco enterprise wireless architectures

  • Nile Wireless

    • Exposure to or hands-on experience with Nile wireless solutions

Required Qualifications
  • Track record of enterprise wireless design and deployment, with at least the majority of experience on Arista cognitive wireless solutions

  • Demonstrable ability to lead design and delivery teams and mentor engineers in real time

  • Communication skills to interact confidently with technical and executive stakeholders

  • Ability to balance design, deployment, and escalation responsibilities simultaneously

  • Prior experience in IT professional services or consulting

  • Multi-vendor wireless migration expertise
