Job description

The Hardware Services group at NI has an opening for a Staff Calibration Technician. The Staff Calibration Technician has the overall responsibility of performing accurate and timely calibrations within the guidelines and policies of NI. This position offers the opportunity to work with our stakeholders to deliver world class services while continuing your growth as a calibration professional. 

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations on customer equipment in the laboratory as well as at their site
  • Support the maintenance of our ISO 17025 accreditation
  • Support the development and implementation of processes used in the Calibration Services Laboratory
  • Adhere to our Quality Management System and ISO 17025
  • Adhere to all NI Corporate policies
  • Provide interpretations of calibration results
  • Participate during internal and external audits
  • Assist in review and technical analysis on laboratory nonconformance
  • Support the performance of routine maintenance, inter-laboratory comparison and intermediate check of Laboratory equipment 

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • In laboratory calibration experience
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline plus 3 years of experience in electrical measurement OR formal calibration training plus 4 years of experience in electrical measurement calibration
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025
  • <20 % Travel 

Preferred Requirements

  • Strong knowledge in instrumentation, first-hand experience with signal analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and modular instruments is preferred
    • Examples include but are not limited to: Keysight 3458A Digital Multimeter, Fluke 57XXA Multifunction Calibrators, Rohde & Schwarz FSUP26, Fluke 9500B Oscilloscope Calibrator
  • Knowledge and experience in use of automated calibration environments such as NI's Calibration Executive, Metcal, Etc
  • Experience participating in 17025 accreditation audits
