Dayton, Ohio HX5 is an award-winning provider of engineering, research and development, and technical services to clients such as NASA and the Department of Defense. Founded in 2004, HX5 is a fast-growing veteran- and woman-owned company with locations nationwide.  HX5 is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in Dayton, Ohio at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in support of the Mobility and Training Aircraft Program Office and will demonstrate an understanding of DoD acquisition processes.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Provide system engineering expertise in systems design and integration, manufacturing, quality and industrial engineering, airworthiness and configuration and data management.
* Support the translation of requirements into prime weapon system contractor documents including but not limited to software development plans and sub-specifications, and procedures to ensure the robust application of systems engineering processes across all program development, production, and sustainment tasks.
* Identify aircraft certification requirements and assist in obtaining required certifications.
* Evaluate spectrum certification requirements, analyze equipment for applicability, and process documentation/requests to ensure system requirements are defined and spectrum certification is achieved and maintained.
Education and Experience * Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited school and fifteen (15) years of related experience.
* Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited school and twelve (12) years of related experience.
* Five (5) years of experience on specialty task areas of systems, flight systems, avionics, software or test for the DoD.
 Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time onsite position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.   Other Position Requirements: * Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
* Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
* Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance by date of hire. 
* Must be able to travel, including air travel.
