This full-service hospital has proudly served its community for over 100 years, providing comprehensive medical services to residents of Clark County and surrounding areas. As the region's only full-service hospital, it offers a complete spectrum of care including 24/7 emergency services, maternity services, critical and intensive care, surgery, and pediatric care, all delivered by skilled physicians and highly trained health professionals.
Opportunity:
Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Cardiothoracic
Job Details:
  • Locum opportunity beginning 9/8/2026 through 9/18/2026 with potential for ongoing coverage at least 1-2 weeks per month through 2027
  • Monday through Friday schedule, 8am to 5pm with floor call/beeper coverage from 3pm to 7am
  • Saturday and Sunday 24-hour onsite support with floor call or OR call coverage
  • Inpatient/hospital-based practice setting serving adult and geriatric patient populations
  • Average of 20-26 hospital patients per day at a Level 2 Trauma Center
  • Provide post-operative care for all types of cardiothoracic and vascular patients
  • Perform emergency surgery on cardiothoracic and vascular patients
  • Take consults and referrals from the ED, Cath Lab, and all hospital providers
  • Perform vein harvesting and retrieval of vascular tissues for use as a bypass conduit during heart surgery
  • Assist in surgery, write prescriptions, and coordinate care
  • Perform rounding, interpret tests, and order tests as needed
  • Complete EMR documentation using Epic
  • Active Ohio license required - providers who need to obtain will not be accepted
  • Board certification in Vascular Surgery required
  • Active ACLS and Active DEA required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery services required
  • Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required, no exceptions
  • Estimated credentialing timeframe of 90-120 days; temporary privileges potentially available within one week with quick submission of required items and a clean file
  • Travel reimbursements available including airfare, lodging, rental car, and mileage at IRS rate
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
