• You’re a motivated student with a current 3.0 GPA or higher currently pursuing a degree in one of the following areas from an accredited college or university:
  
  •  Communications, Human Resources, I/O Psychology, Journalism
• This is a paid, full-time, 11-week internship designed to give you real-world experience and meaningful exposure to the telecommunications industry in your chosen field.
• Internship program runs from May 26 through August 6, 2027.
• In addition to role-specific projects, you’ll take part in professional development sessions, networking opportunities, mentorship and experiences that help you grow personally and professionally.

What you can expect in this role  

As a Spectrum intern, you’ll spend the summer working alongside two teams: your respective department and your intern cohort.

Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on internship experiences that include a kickoff conference, professional development sessions and networking activities, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects and final presentations.

This experience is designed to help you explore your interests, expand your network and leave with a deeper understanding of both your field and the impact of our business.

Internship responsibilities may include:

The Talent Acquisition Intern will support Spectrum News' recruiting and campus engagement strategy by helping build talent pipelines for internships, fellowships, and entry-level opportunities. The intern will support a variety of projects and programs that attract the next generation of journalists and media professionals. 

• Assist with internship and fellowship recruiting activities, support university engagement initiatives, help coordinate programming for student programs, assist with tracking and recruiting metrics, conduct research on early career and emerging talent trends. 

Required qualifications

• Must be a rising senior with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
• Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organization skills with attention to detail
• Experience with Microsoft Office - particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Interest in recruiting, talent acquisition, university recruiting, passion for developing talent and supporting careers in journalism.
